The Magic of Mozart

Earlier this week I came across some of my classical/instrumental music CDs that I used to play in my classroom. I decided to play some each afternoon to help enforce our "quiet time" activities.
WOW!
What a difference! The girls have colored, done puzzles, drawn, and even just sat and listened to the CDs. It is so soothing and calming, but gives just enough 'noise' in the air to keep them distracted from whatever I'm trying to do.
And they're being introduced to the classics. Hey-it's a win-win!
Like I said, it's Magic!

I do something similar... I put on an satellite station that plays acoustic versions of current songs. Which for us is very mellow music to have on! I see the difference in their behavior for sure!

Now why I haven't done this with classical I don't know. Especially with my classical piano background! Maybe I'll give that a shot next time :)

Good idea, I'm going to try it. I will let you know how my three respond.

Great Idea. Addy's been learning about different composers in Piano theory camp and I bet she would like this! Thanks for posting about this!

I used to play classical music all the time when I was pregnant. I'm going to break out my CDs too :) Thanks for the reminder.
